Vegetable stearin is a variant of stearin derived from plant sources , unlike traditional stearin, which can come from animal or synthetic sources. This type of stearin is extracted from palm oil or coconut oil and is mixed in percentages ranging from 2 to 8% with other vegetable waxes such as soybean to give candles or molds a better consistency , thus helping prevent the candles from collapsing or decaying during burning. Candles made with vegetable stearin burn evenly .
Ideal for making Golden Wax Y50 or Golden Wax S41 soy wax or other types of natural wax more resistant.
USE
In a double boiler, melt the soy wax and vegetable stearin over very low heat. Use a candle thermometer to monitor the temperature. The soy wax should melt between 65 and 75 degrees Celsius (165-185 degrees Fahrenheit). Vegetable stearin typically has a slightly higher melting point, so you should make sure it's completely melted.
